There is lots of exciting and rewarding work to be done at SACHA.
From answering our 24 Hour Support Line, sitting on centre committees and volunteering at events, last year volunteers contributed over 11,000 hours to the centre.
How to volunteer
Women and non-binary volunteers answer SACHA’s support line twenty-four hours a day from their homes. A sixteen week training is provided for all interested volunteers.
For more information on becoming a support line volunteer check out this pdf or contact Miriam through our contact form or at 905.525.4573 x222. Screening starts Summer 2020 and the next training will begin in Fall 2020.
Help to raise money so that SACHA can continue to provide our amazing services. Volunteers on the Fundraising Committee help to organize our annual fundraiser Chocolate Fest.
If you are interested in joining the Fundraising Committee, please contact us.
Help SACHA to make decisions on how the centre is run and how we engage in our work.

Hamilton Feminist Zine Fair
The Hamilton Feminist Zine Fair, organized by SACHA, celebrates and creates spaces for marginalized groups to have discussions about feminism through do-it-yourself publishing.
Education/Awareness volunteers are mainly responsible for helping create public awareness about SACHA, our services, and upcoming events. This is mostly done through tabling at events and festivals in the Hamilton Area (including Stoney Creek, Ancaster, Dundas, and Waterdown). They also help assist at public education workshops (online and in person) with logistics, group facilitation, and demonstrations.
Our next intake of Education/Awareness volunteers is happening now! This intake period will end on June 30th 2020.
You can apply be completing the Education/Awareness Volunteer Application and emailing it along with a current resume or summary of your relevant experience (can include work, volunteer work, and life experience) to Miranda at firstname.lastname@example.org
